After the success of the 1st edition of ART BOOKS WANTED organized in 2012, the International Art Books Publisher EDITION LIDU launches the 2nd edition of Call for Entries ART BOOKS WANTED 2013.
The 2nd edition brings exciting PRIZE of 1 000 € for the Winner, many interesting opportunities for participant authors and a brand new website.

Artworks and Authors selected in the 1st round will be presented on the website and communicated via the official Newsletter internationally.
The Winner and Authors selected in the 2nd round will be presented in THE SELECTION of outstanding projects and communicated internationally to art and design magazines, museums, institutions and other media. Awarded Authors will receive an Official ABW Award Certificate. The WINNER will receive the PRIZE of 1 000 € and the Official ABW Award Certificate.
Selected Artists will have the opportunity to show their work during international exhibitions and will be considered for publishing by EDITION LIDU.

Artists, Designers, Writers, Schools, etc.
The Call for Entries ART BOOKS WANTED is open to established and emerging Artists, Illustrators, Graphic Designers, Typographers, Photographers, Designers, Writers, Independent publishers and Art & Design Students.
Submissions are welcome from individuals and creative Studios/Teams. There are no age, language or nationality limitations.
What Can You Submit
Artist’s Books, Zines, Comics, Graphic Novels, iBooks, etc.
EDITION LIDU search for author’s books and zines, graphic books, comic strips, illustrated short stories, photo books, hand-printed books, Pop-up books, PDF Layouts, Interactive books and stories using digital media, ePub, iBooks, APPS and other original book forms.
How Can You Submit
Each participant can submit more Artworks. For each Artwork a new Submission form has to be filled in and the participant has to make the payment of the Submission Fee (Students 10 € / Professionals 25 €) each time.
You have 3 possibilities of Submission: A – Online Submission or B – E-mail Submission or C – Paper Submission

The Organizer
The Call for Entries ART BOOKS WANTED is organized by the international publishing house EDITION LIDU with the goal of supporting Art and Book culture worldwide. EDITION LIDU, with editors offices in Prague, focuses on producing quality ART & GRAPHIC BOOKS, original
CHILDREN’S BOOKS and NEW MEDIA PROJECTS.
EDITION LIDU gives authors the possibility of high-level presentation. EDITION LIDU’s books and art projects regularly participate in exhibitions and festivals all over the world and are often honored at international competitions and selected in Permanent collections of Art Museums,
Libraries and Archives.
The Jury
Submitted Artworks will be evaluated in 2 rounds
1ST ROUND
After the official submission deadline, submitted Artworks will be evaluated by the Art direction of EDITION LIDU. The Art direction of EDITION LIDU will select up to 50 Artworks.
2ND ROUND
Artworks which were selected in the 1st round will be evaluated by The International JURY composed of art and design experts, artists and curators. THE JURY will select up to 12 Artworks which will be AWARDED. The JURY will vote for 1 BEST ARTWORK and the Author will
receive the ART BOOKS WANTED PRIZE of 1000 €.
The Art direction of EDITION LIDU and The Jury will examine the submissions according to the following criteria:
- Creativity, originality, innovation, aesthetic quality
- Quality of presentation, maturity of the Artwork, detail

The Call for Entries ART BOOKS WANTED was created by EDITION LIDU with the goal of supporting Art and Book culture worldwide. EDITION LIDU received submissions in wide range of art book forms by artists, designers and writers from all over the world: USA, UK, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech republic, Slovak, Poland, Iran, Sweden and Finland.

The Results and Selected Authors from ART BOOKS WANTED 2012 were presented internationally via media partners and during EDITION LIDU’s exhibitions with over 60 000 visitors.
EDITION LIDU started a cooperation with participant authors and provided them with interesting creative and selling opportunities.
