The Selection Process

The Jury had a difficult task to select from 116 book projects from all over the world. The 116 projects were selected in the first round (shortlist) from total of 247 submissions. The Jury examinated the submissions according to the following criteria: Creativity, originality, innovation, aesthetic quality, quality of presentation, maturity of the Artwork and detail. We bring you few insights of the Jury in a new article.

The Jury first nominated max. 3 authors to each category. In the second part of the session, jury members discussed over the nominated projects then voted to award only 1 project in each category. The Jury also granted Honorable mentions.

Winners of 12 categories were elected, such as Best children’s book, best author’s book, best photography book, and more. In the end of the day, jury had a big discussion about the main winner, who will receive the price of 1000 €.

Opening Exhibition and Announcement of the Awards

We already know the results, however we will keep it in secret until the official announcement of the results. The winner and awarded projects will be announced on the Opening ART BOOKS WANTED exhibition at Designblok Prague on 7th October 2014.

We will bring you interviews with JURY members during August and September and ask them what was their favorite book from the ABW 2014.
